Jacalyn Kane, Producer, Director, Actor & Writer
For over twenty years Jackie Kane has created and produced non-profit events, award shows, and major festivals on both coasts. She honed her craft while living in NYC from 1986-1992 before moving to LA. There she was immersed in the Latin Music world mentored by David Maldonado where she learned to produce concerts, from Tito Puente & Celia Cruz at Madison Square Garden to managing clients from Ruben Blades to Marc Anthony and Menudo.
Her history includes the co-creation of the Vineyard Peace Concert ‘86 on Martha's Vineyard (featuring The Band & Carly Simon) and the 2002 Whole Earth Festival in Los Angeles with Whole Foods as her title sponsor. Her achievements also include producing and directing The First Americans In The Arts Awards, LA, honoring the artistic achievements of Native Americans, and six years of producing the Topanga Days Country Fair. Through Jacalyn Kane Productions she has independently produced and promoted baby boomer concerts along the West Coast including Jackson Browne, Stephen Stills, Lila Downs, Mavis Staples, Kris Kristofferson, Rufus Wainwright, America, Natalie Cole and Judy Collins. In 1998 Ms. Kane returned to the east coast and Martha's Vineyard to co-present The Boston Pops on The Vineyard. During her time living in Topanga’s Canyon in the 90’s as an actress, Jackie, was a member of Group Repertoire Theatre, in Burbank. While there she brought, a two person version, of “In My Father’s House” to life in a workshop where she portrayed the role of Alana.
In 2012 Jackie made Martha’s Vineyard home once again. This time her passion for sharing the natural beauty of the Island with her clients inspired the creation of My Vineyard Elopement and My Vineyard Concierge. Both businesses are thriving still today.
In 2024 she and her husband, Gary Brown, and their dog, Missy moved to New Mexico and their newly built home, where they were married in a ceremony on their land immersed in the enchantment of Santa Fe. Together they have formed Kane Productions, a company that is producing current and future multimedia theatrical productions focused on themes of social justice and historical relevance. They are currently producing In My Father’s House, a play written by Ms. Kane, which premieres in Santa Fe on October 3, 2024.
Gary Michael Brown
Gary Brown boasts a career of directing, and producing in prime time television and screenwriting. He won an Emmy Award for producing the sports series,”The Way It Was” then segued into situation comedy working at the production giant Witt Thomas Harris for years, where he directed and produced the hit show Benson and also directed WTH’S Its a Living and One Big Family. He also directed episodes of Who’s the Boss, 227, Brothers, What’s Happening, Charles in Charge, The Fanelli Boys, Lost on Earth, Claude’s Crib among others and co-produced and directed the NBC series Pacific Station, Mommies, and Platypus Man for UPN. He is author of the screenplays It’s All Happening at the Zoo for Paramount Pictures, Inside Source, Lola, The Sum of Nine, and the teleplay, The Fixer. Gary currently lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife, Jacalyn Kane and their dog, Missy. Together they have formed Kane Productions, a company that is producing current and future multimedia theatrical productions.
