Hamlet

  • Santa Fe Botanical Gardens 715 Camino Lejo Santa Fe, NM, 87505 United States (map)

A ghost appears who claims to be Hamlet’s father and demands that Hamlet revenge his murder—but is it truly his father? The Prince of Denmark becomes mired in reason. And rumination. Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy includes philosophy, swords, surveillance, dysfunctional family dynamics, disprized love, poison, mystery, and unanswered questions. A treat for the whole family.

Upstart Crows of Santa Fe is a Shakespeare troupe for young people age 10 to 18 that produces full-length, uncut plays with a focus on understanding the works.

Performances:
Saturday • July 29 • 5:15 p.m.

Upstart Crows of Santa Fe

We explore Shakespeare’s language and meaning with the help of experienced directors and professional actors, learn stage fighting from Fight Director Ambrose Ferber, and participate in outreach to schools, libraries, and community centers, sharing their passion for the plays.

There are no auditions and no prior theater experience is necessary—the only requirement is a desire to do the work. All who participate receive substantial roles. Most productions have two to four casts so that actors can take part in every aspect of production.

The Crows perform three full plays a year, with productions in the spring, summer, and fall/early winter, as well as workshops and dramatic readings. Please join us!
