Amuse Bouche

Amuse Bouche, an original European Clown show

Directed by Elizabeth Wiseman
Created by the cast

Created in the style of European Clown, this form challenges the student actor to create a completely original, living, breathing character—diving deep to find the truth within each character. We don’t know yet where it will go, but we do know that it will be exciting, fun, and perhaps a little scary.

From Ms. Wiseman: “What the clown show will be depends entirely on the cast and the clowns they discover. I can say this: the show will not resemble circus, nor will there be wigs, big shoes, or juggling. We will be working in the world of Theatrical Clown, sometimes called European clown, where honesty and poetry lead the way. Finding one’s clown is a journey; and not everyone arrives. That’s okay. The most important part, of course, is the journey itself. The show is a devised piece based on the particular clowns that are developed in training and subsequent rehearsals.”
