Julesworks Follies 56th Edition Year End STRESS Blow Out Greatest Hits Near Misses and Some Newbies Episode
Santa Fe’s longest running not quite monthly live variety show presenting Theatre, Music, Comedy, Stand Up, Spoken Words, Dance! and much more.
The Julesworks Follies 56th Edition Year End STRESS Blow Out Greatest Hits Near Misses and Some Newbies Episode helps shove off 2018 with a little of past characters and bits culled from the previous years of the show mixed with some new and refined scenes.
Spearheaded by Julesworksers Loyalists Jules, Chris Diestler, Danette Sills, Rose Provan, Ellchemi Ossorio, Christl McKenzie, and Lexie & Yvette Michelle Martinez, with our youth outreach sensation GabeCat, the show features an array of short scenes with music, poetry and much more interspersed, from some returning performers, some brand new ones, and other surprises.
We hope to have a mix every show of return loyalists, newbies, and people who perform occasionally as their lives permit. Other Loyalists who perform when possible include Greg Turner, Andy Kirkpatrick, Stephen Rommel, and more.
As usual, the talented Rose Provan will present a new original skit with I Voted for Women starring Provan & Jules. She will also reprise her Millenial skits co-starring Diestler. There will be new material of some beloved recurring characters including the GRRM Holiday by Sills with Jules as well as a GRRM Holiday snippet with Sills ’n’ Diestler. Diestler has written a topical new scene in GENDER FLUID NIXON at the SANTA FE CITY COUNCIL. And there will be some Revisionist History News (Hot) Flashes by Julesworksers Reporters. Plus more original material from Christl including The Elephant Plot, a short Holiday skit.
We are pleased to announce a new performer in beloved hard-working talented musician Timbo Arnoldo, aka Cactus Slim. Timbo will join to share music and perhaps more as part of a contingency connected to Madrid, especially the Joe West Theater of Death crew, as well as folks from 96.9 FM KMRD Madrid’s Community Radio. Others who may join to share their talents include artist and puppeteer Joann Conte, DJ Elle Boogie Woogie, and more.
Also, we expect and hope for returns and newcomers for our Open Slot Slot in which other audience members can jump up at the end of the show to share a short performance piece.
We also always attempt to stage other bits to involve the audience including: Improv sometimes and skits like “Julesworks Revisionist History . . . Ask our Experts” with Jules and anyone else!
There will be Julesworksers Literary Outburst by Chrsitl as well as the original Song by Christl & Lexi.
And, the Julesworksers will return to one of their on and off traditions of presenting their take on source material that has inspired their lives like Monty Python and A Little Bit of Fry and Laurie. Also per tradition, the show will end with an Ensemble Musical Finale by the troupe with audience participation encouraged.
Tickets remain $5 and available now at www.jeancocteaucinema.com
