THE THEATRE LOVERS CLUB PRESENTS
Fun Home Director, Vaughn Irving, will take you through the process of producing, directing, and creating works of musical theatre. What are the unique challenges and opportunities posed by this genre. How can music help storytelling? When does it stand in the way? How does someone "act" a song? Why do we do musicals? Why do we love/hate them?
Vaughn Irving is the Artistic Director of Santa Fe Playhouse. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University. Vaughn is the co-writer of the award-winning musicals Disco Jesus and the Apostles of Funk and You or Whatever I Can Get. Since arriving at the Santa Fe Playhouse he has directed the musicals Cabaret and The Last Five Years.
Doors open at 5:30 pm for light refreshments and conversation before the talk.
