THE THEATRE LOVERS CLUB PRESENTS
On July 9, Caryl Farkas, Artistic Director of the Upstart Crows, will discuss her work with youth in Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. This early Shakespearean comedy is full of slapstick humor and bad puns! The Upstart Crows have been attending workshops on Shakespeare’s comedy and will give us a preview with the youthful energy this play requires.
Caryl has most recently directed the International Shakespeare Center’s production of King Lear and will be directing their upcoming ISC production of Measure for Measure. The Upstart Crows of Santa Fe is a Shakespeare troupe for young people ages 10 to 18 which produces workshops and uncut plays with a focus on understanding and collaboration.
Performances of The Comedy of Errors are July 26, 27 and Aug 2, 3 and begin at 6 p.m. in the Botanical Garden.
Doors open at 5:30 pm for light refreshments and conversation before the talk.
