Please note a slight change in our schedule: TLC will not be offering this as one of our official talks this month. However, we encourage our members to attend this presentation of The Upstart Crows of Santa Fe at the Unitarian Universalist Church starting at 7 pm.   The event is free and open to the public.  Three casts of Crows will perform brief scene excerpts from their upcoming production of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice.   A panel discussion of the play will follow, addressing the challenges of producing a play which raises issues of racism, sexism, and antisemitism that are painfully relevant in our times.

The panel includes John Andrews, editor, educator, and founder of The Shakespeare Guild; Rabbi Neil Amswych, Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom; Robin Williams, dramaturg and co-founder of the International Shakespeare Center; Caryl Farkas, Director of Upstart Crows of Santa Fe; and members of the Upstart Crows.
