Part 2 – Uncle Vanya and The Wood Demon
As the TLC steering committee searched for good productions of great plays online to discuss, we found three very different but wonderful versions of Uncle Vanya, the timeless play by Anton Chekov. We felt that viewing all three variations could give some wonderful insights into playwriting, directing, and acting. Vanya on 42nd Street led off in April, and in May, Jay O Sanders’ production of a new translation of Uncle Vanya will be paired with Chekov’s earliest version of that play, The Wood Demon, produced by the BBC.
