THE THEATRE LOVERS CLUB PRESENTS
Come January, we thought it would be fun to revive our virtual discussion group, Let’s Talk Theater, as our TLC offering for the month. And what better way to hunker down and cozy up than with this wonderful old chestnut, Claire Booth Luce’s The Women?
The Roundabout Theatre revived this delicious play in 2001 starring Cynthia Nixon, Rue McClanahan, Kristen Johnston, and Jennifer Tilly. And it holds up! Let’s talk about why it does, as we compare the modern play with the original 1939 film which stars just about every famous actress of its time: Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Joan Fontaine, and Paulette Goddard.
We are very pleased that Jim Cady and Lorri Oliver have agreed to lead our discussion. Jim directed The Women at Albuquerque’s Adobe Theater in October of 2019 and Lorri played Sylvia in his production. We think this will make for a very exciting discussion!
To participate in the January discussion, please scroll down to register. A Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants on the morning of the 11th.
