Agnes and Tobias seem like an average upper-middle-class couple, though their lifestyle is strained by Agnes’ alcoholic sister. Then their friends, Harry and Edna, want to move in because they're scared of something in their own home, on the same night their daughter flees her fourth marriage. Denial, delusion, and inebriation set the stage for Albee’s brilliant satire of America’s upper class.
