Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis represents the life cycle of a butterfly: Four stages, four distinct characters. The egg is a little girl, circa 1962, in her home-made bomb shelter, worrying about the Cuban ‘mess-up’ crisis. She grows into the caterpillar, who is a dominatrix, always hungry - but not for food. The chrysalis contains her as an aging movie-star, wondering where the crowds went. Finally, the butterfly emerges, freed from all previous concerns, to soar above the stage, on aerial silks.
