New Mexico Actors Lab presents Persephone, Baby

When Persephone is abducted by Hades, God of the Underworld, she must rely on the kindness of a dead woman and the hope that Demeter, her mother, will come to her rescue before it’s too late—if Persephone eats any food of the Underworld, she will be trapped there forever. As the gods of life and death both lay claim to her, Persephone must discover for herself what possible redemption might be found in the land of the dead. Persephone, Baby is a modern classic, a beautiful and challenging meditation on truth and falsehood, hunger and nourishment, and the endlessness of a mother’s love.
