Incite Shakespeare Company Santa Fe

Incite Shakespeare Company Santa Fe (ISC Santa Fe)

Our mission is to engage and build community through imaginative, entertaining, and insightful performances, using Shakespeare as a mirror to reflect our time and to incite joy, empathy, activation, and engagement.

We strive to develop productions that take Shakespeare’s plays off the pedestal and explore their resonance in our contemporary times. We examine power, play with gender, and experiment with process. We create productions that provoke complex thoughts and deep feelings. We aim to present Shakespeare’s work as we experience it: exciting, alive, edgy, full of beauty, imagination, change, contradiction, and complexity. We want our whole community, from actors to audiences, from designers to students, to feel energized by Shakespeare.

We provide a variety of programming including a summer repertory season, Radio Shakespeare Lab (creating a complete radio library of Shakespeare’s canon), Long Dead But Well Read (our play-in-a-day staged reading series). ISC Santa Fe is also passionate about providing opportunities for local actors and audience members to further their artistic and intellectual explorations. Over the years we have brought many award-winning theatre practitioners and scholars to Santa Fe. ISC Santa Fe is a proud member of the Shakespeare Theatre Association (STA).
