Youth Theater Summer Camp
Join Theatre Santa Fe for Youth Theater Summer Camp
Theatre Santa Fe presents a Youth Theater Summer Camp for ages 11-18 the week of July 27–31, 2026 at the Center for Progress and Justice, 1420 Cerrillos Road, with a Showcase Saturday August 1. This camp will run 9am to 2pm daily, teaching students about acting, dancing, singing, and performing together in theater scenes.
The camp will be taught by local experts in theater and student education: Marilyn Barnes (Tri-M Productions, formerly Santa Fe High School) will lead acting sessions; Diana Orozco-Garrett (dance) and Cora Harms (music) are both long-time leaders in such youth organizations as Pandemonium Players. Each day participants will have an hour session in each subject with the specialist. Monday, the first day of camp, all participants will sing, dance and act in their hour-long sessions. During lunch the teachers of the camp will discuss and assign each person a solo, duet or trio, as well as either a monologue or a dialogue with other actors. All participants will dance, move, and sing each day. The week will be organized to achieve a showcase for family and friends for Saturday morning August 1st at 11am. Scenes are being considered from Annie, Aladdin, Les Miserables, Oliver, Seussical, Newies, Hairspray, Peter Pan, and more!
Cost for the week camp is $225, payable by July 24 (the Friday before the camp). We do not want any talented youth turned away because of lack of funds. Please contact the Director Marilyn Barnes (505-670-4854) about the availability of half- or full-scholarships.
Participants need to bring their own lunch. There will be a young-adult camp counselor who will facilitate breaks and lunch. Theatre Santa Fe will provide snacks and water.
Participants will make new friends, improve their skills, and have a marvelously busy 5 days of immersive theater!
