The Upstart Crows of Santa Fe present a selection of scenes from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Fourteen new and veteran Crows ages 11 to 17 have been in workshop with the play. The Dream is Shakespeare’s most popular play, and actors will perform multiple characters, trading costumes on stage as the story unfolds.
Synopsis:
Lysander loves Hermia, and she loves him. Helena loves Demetrius; who once loved her but now loves Hermia. Theseus, Duke of Athens is about to marry Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, and there is war between Oberon and and Titania, king and queen of the fairies. Willful lovers, magical potions, the mischief of Puck, and the dark side of the supernatural world combine with song and an epic stage fight to make for a delightful ninety minutes of Shakespeare.
