Lysistrata, a comedy, was written by Aristophanes of ancient Greece; it was originally performed in Athens in 411 BCE. The Greek women, led by Lysistrata, band together to deny sex to their husbands until they end the Peloponnesian War, thus inflaming a battle of the sexes.
