THE THEATRE LOVERS CLUB PRESENTS

Join us for a discussion of this exciting new play! Director Jessica Hanna will lead us through her process of realizing this true story.   Jessica is a Los Angeles-based director and producer who comes to Santa Fe as a freelance director with a focus on new work development.

The Adobe Rose Theatre Production’s mandate is to produce at least two shows per year at their old home theater.  This Fall, they return to The Swan theater to present "Hostage," a new play by Michelle Kholos Brooks opening on October 10th.

The time is 1979, the place Tehran, where 40 years ago this Fall, a group of Iranian college students took over the American Embassy and made hostages of the fifty-two US diplomats and citizens inside.  Back in Wisconsin, Barbara Timm boarded a plane and flew to Tehran demanding to see the youngest hostage - her 21 year old son, Kevin.  The play is a powerful tribute to the love and nerve of a mother who would not take no for an answer.

There will also be a talk back performance on October 20th with the author and the real Barbara Timm!

Doors open at 5:30 pm for light refreshments and conversation before the talk.
