New Mexico School for the Arts presents
Stress and Coffee:
24-hour Play Festival
On Friday March 8, during Arts Block, five names will be randomly drawn from a "playwright hat" - these are the student playwrights. The writing process begins at the school at 7:00 p.m. and the student playwrights write all night long, with the help of a teacher mentor.
On Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m., five randomly selected student directors arrive and get a one hour directing workshop.
At 9:00 a.m., the student actors interested in auditioning arrive at the school and auditions are held. Rehearsals begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the doors open at 6:30 pm.
The performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. for the public, who will view these five fully staged plays that did not exist 24 hours before!
