Our Theater Lovers Club members continue to be fascinated with the process of creating theater. With that in mind, we have a terrific TLC talk scheduled for March!
What does it take to create a season of plays and then actually produce them? Robert Benedetti and Nicholas Ballas will speak to the creation of a season, and then secondarily to the preparation of an individual play. They will each be discussing their responsibilities as the Artistic Director (Mr. Ballas) and the Managing Director (Dr. Benedetti), a pairing that is at the heart of all resident theaters.
We anticipate a fascinating peek behind the scenes as we get the chance to delve into the underpinning of theater creation at a fundamental level. We’ll take a look at all the components that go into forming a season, such as play selection and scheduling and then the process of producing an individual play, from choosing a director and the technical crew through rehearsal.
