This talk is presented in conjunction with Upstart Crows of Santa Fe’s production of Antony and Cleopatra at UU Santa Fe in August. It is part of the International Shakespeare Center’s Santa Fe Summer Shakespeare Festival programming.
Historian, archaeologist, and classical scholar, Duane W. Roller is Professor Emeritus of Classics at Ohio State University, and currently lives in Santa Fe, NM. He is the author of fifteen books, including The Building Program of Herod the Great, Eratosthenes’ Geography, Cleopatra: A Biography, The Geography of Strabo, Ancient Geography, and Cleopatra’s Daughter. He has excavated in Greece, Italy, Turkey, and the Levant. He is a three-time Fulbright scholar, most recently the Karl-Franzens Distinguished Chair of Cultural Studies at the University of Graz, Austria.
