The Seafarer by Conor McPherson

Written by Irish playwright Conor McPherson, The Seafarer premiered at London’s Royal National Theatre in 2006 and was nominated for multiple Tony Awards as well as the Olivier Award and Evening Standard Award for Best Play. Set in Dublin on Christmas Eve, The Seafarer tells the story of Sharky, who has returned home to build a new, sober existence with his cantankerous elder brother, Richard, recently blinded in a drunken accident. But the drinks are flowing as old friends convene for an annual game of poker that turns into a high stakes wager for a man’s soul.
A relative newcomer to Santa Fe and NMAL, Alex Hurt will be guest director. The cast includes Nicholas Ballas, Rod Harrison, Alexander Lane, Jack O’Donnell, and Geoffrey Pomeroy.

Admission: The Season Flex-pass is $100 for four admissions that can be used in any combination for any shows. Individual tickets are $30, with students and two preview performances costing $15.
