Youth are the future of our country ... and of theatre! This special matinee is an opportunity to celebrate the end of the school year by inviting teens and college students you know to come, listen, think, and speak out. It is not only an entertaining performance, but also an opportunity for both young folks and adults to laugh, think, learn, question and engage in making a personal connection with our country’s all-important Constitution and how it will shape the next generation of Americans.
Playwright Heidi Schreck’s boundary-breaking play breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans. Fifteen-year-old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful, and achingly human new play, she resurrects her teenage self to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives. Teen actors participate in the debate on stage, stimulating our responses to their issues.
The post-performance talk-back and mixer will invite youth, as well as adults, to add their voices to the play's debate. Surprise gift for all attending! Refreshments for talk-back participants! Come prepared to have fun, and to make a difference in our future!
