SWEAT
Written by Lynn Nottage. Directed by Robyn Rikoon.
Join us for the Saturday afternoon matinee of Sweat, the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama which explores issues of class, race, immigration, and economic decline during eight years that changed middle America. Stay after the show to meet the cast and enjoy a talk back with the director!
Synopsis: Shifting between 2000 and 2008, workers at Olstead’s Steel Tubing form long-lasting bonds over drinks, secrets, and laughs after grueling workdays on the factory floor. But relationships are put to the test when the Rust Belt factory leaves the union and inevitable layoffs and promotions take place. Using wit and grit as only Nottage can, Sweat was written after conducting two years of interviews with residents of Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Playhouse is offering a 20% discount to TLC ticket buyers to this performance! You must purchase your own ticket to the performance on the Playhouse website, using the discount code TLC.

MORNING SUN
You’re invited to this intensely contemporary play about one woman’s life….in all its complexity, mystery and possibility.
Synopsis: In Simon Stephens’ Morning Sun, Charley McBride is a woman whose life is dramatic but unsung. She never makes headlines but when confronted with the sharp surprise of a baby and life as a single mom, her story becomes rich, dense, and relevant. An encounter with a museum guard changes things even more.
Starring Suzanne Lederer, Debrianna Mansini, and Vanessa Rios y Valles. Benedetti says, “This loving play about mothers and daughters has a dream cast of three of our favorite actors. It will be performed in a full round seating configuration we have never used before.”
How it Works: You must purchase your own ticket for the play.
