“Let’s Talk Theater” – a TLC virtual discussion group!
One of the things we miss most about live theater is being able to get together after a show and discuss the performance over a drink or even just standing in the parking lot! So we thought it might be fun to recreate that virtually by alternating our 2021 TLC talks with group discussions about plays that we can all see online – like a book club, except instead of discussing books, we will discuss plays.
Nicholas Ballas, Artistic Director of the New Mexico Actors Lab, has agreed to moderate our first discussion. To start us off, we chose a BBC all-star production of Harold Pinter’s The Collection as our first play for discussion (with Alan Bates, Helen Mirren, Malcolm McDowell and Sir Laurence Olivier). We are very excited that Nicholas will moderate our first offering! He has a great love and deep knowledge of Pinter and, as you may recall, he directed and acted in Pinter’s “No Man’s Land” with Jonathan Richards for NMAL’s most recent season.
